From High-school Drop Out To Playing Golf on Mondays After His Exit!
John Dillon tells it all about his Life after an Exit!
Howdy!
Today is the first interview-style edition of RNW!
I decided to interview John after I saw multiple posts of him playing golf on many occasions on Mondays. I knew John was an entrepreneur but I was intrigued as to what led him to live this lifestyle.
Turns out John recently sold his company AND has a pretty cool story to tell.
Without any further ado, Meet John
John Dillon
What’s your background & What motivated you to start your company?
High school dropout. I worked very mediocre and low-paying jobs. Was flat broke going into 2017 with nothing but a goal, to not be in the same situation I was in the next year.
Got into side hustles selling electronics on the marketplace, Craiglist, & eBay which helped me build capital to eventually get into stock trading.
What kind of Company did you start?
Got into trading stocks, penny/low caps $5 and below.
Created a subscription business around trading and alerts. Sold it recently after a few years.
What’s your current Net Worth after the exit?
For legal/tax reasons, I am not at liberty to answer this, sorry.
What’s the first thing you did when the money hit your bank account?
Bought a couple of golf shirts Then I paid my car off. Ate a steak that night.
How do you spend your money? (Lifestyle, House, Chefs, Travels, Family)
Traveling. Playing golf. For my birthday in October, I took a 2-week road trip cross country playing some of the most famous courses.
Fine dining. I'm in Atlanta currently for New Year, this past Friday I had Sun Dial, probably one of my top 5 restaurants. The view was amazing.
How do you plan to stay wealthy?
I try to grow my net worth year after year. I never want to be in the situation I was in 6 years ago. I plan to get into multi-family rentals in the next year or so along with a few other business adventures.
So what’s next?
Travel & playing lots of golf haha, but seriously, this year I plan to grind harder than I ever have and want to accomplish so much. I have a few new projects in the works. Hopefully, create a new business I can sell for an 8 figure acquisition.
Hope you enjoyed John’s story, feel free to connect with him. He’s open to answering more questions.
