Happy Sunday!
Let’s dive into the world of profitable Chrome extensions with very few employees.
There are about 3.6M apps in the Apple app store with around 1B users.
But there are about 3.2B Google users and only 200,000 Chrome extensions.
Chrome extensions can be amazing opportunities for entrepreneurs to make millions without killing themselves.
Here is what I have for you today:
1/ GMass, Inc. ($5.4M/year)
2/ Browserless ($336K/year)
3/ Gikken ($224K/year)
Let’s dive
GMass
GMass is a Chrome extension to send cold emails and email marketing campaigns with Gmail. The company is making $450K/ month. What’s impressive is that the founder, Ajay Goel, is the only employee.
Almost every major tech company you can think of uses GMass in some way, including Uber, Lyft, LinkedIn, Twitter, Indeed, Google, Salesforce.com, and Snapchat.
Since its launch in 2015, the extension has had over 500,000 user signups.
Fascinating!
Browserless
It’s an extension that lets users automate all the stuff they’d normally have to do manually with a web browser.
This can be as simple as taking screenshots of your page or even generating PDFs of a cool dashboard on your site.
It’s mainly positioned as a SaaS for developers and has one employee, the founder.
The company is now making $28K/Month with little to no overhead. Inspiring!
Gikken
Their extension is used by 800,000 people every month. Based out of Germany, the company making about $18k/month has 2 founders and only 1 employee.
It’s a translator extension. Unlike mainstream translators like Google or DeepL, they’re targeting a smaller niche of language enthusiasts who translate really a lot.
We’re building a silent retreat in Portugal which requires a lot of translation so I might check them out.
…
Yes, you can make a lot of money without having to hire a ton of people. Chrome extensions are definitely the way to go.
See you next week
Cool! Didn’t know any of these
